1978
founding
The company Stieg was founded by Mr. Alois Stieg, together with his son Johann, in Proleb. The first contract work was carried out in the field of truck refurbishment.
1985
Company premises are purchased
To meet the increasing environmental and customer requirements, company premises in Niklasdorf were purchased supporting the upcoming expansion.
1992
Expansion and modernization of the offices
By that time the number of employees was already around 40.
First orders for rust protection and coating work outside Austria started. In Czech Republic and Slovakia, the company worked for over 2 years as a subcontractor to various power plants and flue gas ducts.
3-year contracts for coating work in Germany and Austria for public baths have been successfully fulfilled.
1990
Expansion of the production hall
The production hall was expanded, which enabled to work on larger parts fully independent of weather conditions. Johann Stieg became operations manager. In this new role he was responsible for the management of the workshop as well as for the customer support.
At the same time, more and more orders for external construction sites could be acquired and the number of employees grew steadily.
2000
Retirement Alois Stieg
On his 65th birthday, Mr. Alois Stieg decided to spend only a few hours at work to further withdraw himself into his well-deserved retirement.
2005
New business segment established
With processing and distribution of ceramic composite materials for wear protection Stieg entered a new business field.
2008
Relocation of the company
After one year of construction, the company moved to the newly built facility in Niklasdorf.
2009
New storage area
A new storage area has been adopted to accept, store and process more orders.
2013
Vehicle fleet renewed
This year, new cars and a new truck were purchased to improve logistics and transportation.
2014
Further expansion of the storage area
SPACE SHORTAGE!!!! To our delight, the current orders exceeded the available storage capacities again, which was addressed with further expansion of the storage area.
2016
New company owner
Mr. Zmugg, the long-term operations manager of the branch in Niklasdorf, bought the company Stieg and became the owner and general manager of Stieg GmbH from May 1st 2016
2018
Ausbau mit Auszeichnung
ERNEUTER PLATZMANGEL!!!! Zu unserer Freude sprengten die laufenden Aufträge diesmal nicht nur unsere Lagerplätze sondern auch die Halle wurde zu klein. Darum folgte ein weiterer Ausbau des Lagerplatzes und der Bau der neuen Arbeitshalle.
In diesem Zuge wurde uns auch von der Landesregierung das Steiermark Wappen verliehen.
